We ran an interview with Martin Siegrist back in February where he spilled the beans a little regarding the fullface helmet project he was working on with TSG International, a European safety gear manufacturer. That helmet is now getting closer to its public release and is on display at the Eurobike tradeshow. The helmet is scheduled for release this coming spring, and brings a new profile to the downhill skateboarding market. Tentative prices are set at 225 Euro ($350 USD) for fiberglass models and 375 Euro ($500 USD) for a carbon fiber version. That puts the fiberglass version right in line with other DH specific fullfaces on the market, while the carbon fiber version is obviously more of a premium offering. It’s not stated if there’s a weight savings with the carbon model, but with a premium of $150, you’d hope that it’s not just cosmetic. All models will come with two visors, one clear and one tinted. According to Siegrist, the helmet will meet EN 1078 certification, as TSG certifies all their helmets.

This looks like it will be another great option for riders looking to get a downhill-specific helmet, and with Martin’s involvement we expect nothing less than the best.
