Giant’s Head is Stayin’ Alive

We just spoke with the organizers of Giant’s Head Freeride and got an official statement on the status of the highly anticipated event. Things were looking pretty bleak after the cancellation of the event due to forest fires in the area. Many months later, things are looking much better.

Official word:

Giant’s Head is still alive, largely thanks to the overwhelming support from our community in wake of last year’s cancellation. The event organizers are currently negotiating with the city of Summerland to use the hill at the end of June. Should Giant’s Head be permitted to return, the original format of a three-day event with all ages welcome will be back. An extra day of instructional skateboarding with pro riders is being considered, but not yet confirmed.

The folks at Tangible Entertainment, who are responsible for the event, would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who helped us pick up the pieces after last year’s forest fires and get Giant’s Head back on track. We are all eager to get back on the hill with our friends and family for a long weekend of sun, slides, and big smiles. The stoke is real.
