UK Winter| Will Edgecombe Photography
Famed British politician Winston Churchil once said: “Attitude is a little thing that makes a BIG difference,” but he also said, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” For those of us not fortunate to have sun all year round, you either have to skate the weather that come at you, or risk not skating at all. Skaters in the UK know better than most you need a stiff upper lip during the winter months, it’s not like you weren’t going to slam when it was dry, right? So get out and skate, the smiles are worth it! -ED
Here are some photographs of UKDH skating a varied selection of some of the finest hills the UK has to offer. Nestled in the notoriously rainy welsh borderlands, we found mud and rain, salty grit and snow, and more than an occasional local constabulary… During the winter months we’ve explored in small bands or gathered from hundreds of miles around to meet, race and jam.
Scenes like this are an indication of the continued strengthening of the community here, paving the way for another wave of talented riders each season. Bring on the summer.
