MORE ABOUT THE EVENTS:
Four hours of freeride will lead up to racing in the afternoon. Like last year there will be no ramps on the road, to allow for faster tighter racing. The town has once again raise $500 for the women’s podium. Racing is just $100 and if you don’t want to race its just $50 to enjoy the closed road and shuttled runs.
4 man heats, race every position means lots of racing for all the competitors. There will be 3 hours of freeriding the course, leading up to one hour of practice and then two hours of racing. Again we are adapting our layout and adding to the number of ramps on the course. Current layout concept involves splitting racers into groups of two at the top of the course then eventually merging them all back together at the fastest point on the hill. Course renderings should be available soon.
Another mix of ramps and features leading down the hill, with the bottom half reserved for slide oriented maneuvering. There will be four hours of freeriding leading up to two hours of competition. The first 45minutes will be an open jam style where riders will be scored by a team of judges. The top 16 will move onto the finals where they will be graded on three individual runs.
Every year this event evolves into something greater. Part Slalom course, part mini Boarder X the showdown is always packed full of unique features. This year’s event will be in the evening following the Slopestyle competition and will involve an assortment of new features, including a water feature.
Always a crowd pleaser the Big Air will preclude the Boarder X event. As always round after round the gap will increase as the riders are eliminated in the process. Our record set in 2013 is 35′ and rumor has it there will be an extra cash prize for the first person who is able to break this record.
Run to the River Slalom
Single lane hybrid course will be open for four hours for drop-in racing. Podium positioning will be based on fastest times.
Puget Island Push Race
8 mile loop on Puget Island(close to the racer campground). This year’s competition will be free to anyone wanting to participate.
We are still in need of dozens of volunteers. Anyone interested in volunteering will find a registration form here: http://pdxdownhill.com/events/2015-cathlamet-downhill-corral/#tab-1433655828975-3-0
