MTY Sk8 Bomb 2016 in Monterrey, Mexico
This just in from Mexico and the homie Edwad Avina!
We have a new date and event for the MTY Sk8 Bomb that got postponed last year due to the hurricane alert. We hope to bring in riders from all around for a great event and are gaining government support to keep pushing these kind of initiatives to not only help skating to grow, but our rights to occupy the streets year round.
The Mty sk8 bomb 2016 is an effort of collaboration between local social associations and local governments to recover the streets. We will be having 35 kms of closed roads, that will unite 4 municipalities. As well a 15 kilometers push race and a bowl jam at the finish line.
Landyachtz Mexico and Longboarding for Peace invite you this April 10 to bring your skateboard, longboard, skate or bike and recover the streets. We will join cyclists collective and state organizations seeking to promote sustainable transport in the event driven METROPOLITAN RIDE How Come Nuevo Leon, which consists of 35 kilometers of traffic controlled by connecting 4 municipalities with their recreational pathways.
We will have a long distance race push from San Pedro de Pinta to La Purisima where later we will have more activities and fun for everyone.
Date: April 10th
Where to meet: The meeting point will be at the roundabout carriageway Valley in San Pedro de Pinta at 9 am to begin the journey and Chinese race format (all out at the same time). The tour will feature security measures on the streets by the state, so it’s safe to invite your brothers, cousins, nephews etc. there will also be activities for them throughout the metropolitan walk. The idea is to make massive presence and to end the thought that “the streets are for cars”
