Throwback Thursdays: Casey Morrow and Pat Haluska in 2014

This throwback goes to two years ago this month in August 2014. While home in Portland, I went out shooting on two separated days with Casey Morrow and Pat Haluska. Here are some of the photos I made from the sessions. Enjoy!

Casey Morrow and I drove out to the Hood River skatepark and skated the park for while. Casey’s board was old and some pressure cracks in it. Casey landed this feeble grind around the bowl and then promptly smashed his board into pieces. He smashed so hard that his wheel was painted by the Arbor graphic.

The next day, I met up with Billy Meiners, Casey, and Pat Haluska to shoot some more photos. Billy supplied the skaters with some Street Hawgs and they were ready to skate. We were skating a plaza and there was one lady who was concerned with what we were doing. Billy fended off concerned citizens, Casey skated with his street style, and Pat tried to ollie as high as Casey.

Casey, along with Pat, is the maker of the VXPod series of videos. If you haven’t seen the videos, you should check out the VxPod1000 and VXPod2000. It will make you reconsider the need to spend however many thousand dollars on that new video camera. Sometimes, catching the moment is more important than quality. The blend of tricks, downhill, and drunk bafoonery makes the video great.

Speaking of downhill, Casey and Pat kept skating until the last light of the day. We went to a West Hills spot in Portland and skated till dark.
