2017 King Of Kona – January 27-29
Returning for it’s 5th year to Kona Skatepark in Jacksonville, FL, King of Kona 2017 is looking to be another memorable weekend. The 3-day event features everything from a mini ramp jam, snake run race, live music and a BBQ. With camping on site, registered riders have unlimited access to one of the oldest skateparks in the world creating a unique skating opportunity. Over the course of 3 days skaters will compete in various competitions for their shot at the title of “King of Kona”
What was originally a last resort back up plan for a canceled downhill event in central Florida years ago has now grown into a weekend long celebration of all things skate and rad. While much of the country is still deep in winter mode, Jacksonville, FL gets plenty of sunshine and warm weather to stoke out any skater. With something for everyone the event caters to all disciplines of skateboarding. Whether is long or short the event has been a perfect display of the “Skate Everything” ideology.
A key focus of the event is to just celebrate skateboarding and bring together a family of skaters who just love to skate. Part party, part skate contest, family reunion, it’s the perfect combination to create as close to an environment of the big events as in the north. 2017 will be no different and each year something new is added and learned from previous events. King of Kona provides a fun environment for people to just get rad. Without a doubt some of the gnarliest skating you’ll ever see will for sure be going down at Kona January 27-29.
With registration priced between $60-100 we can promise you’ll get ever last dollars worth of your entry fee. For the last 4 years Kona has not only provided more skating than your body can handle, but PLENTY of home cooked southern BBQ, pizza and a killer skate party…beer included. With the addition of live music 2017 is looking bright for Kona and we suggest you get yourself to Florida.
