Venom Skate Presents Devil’s Peak Downhill in Colorado – Registration May 15th
Venom, in partner with Justin Rolo, is proud to announce the first annual Devil’s Peak Downhill Skateboarding race on a 1.5 mile section of the infamous Guanella Pass in Georgetown, Colorado.
Dates: August 19th and 20th, 2017
Countless hours have been put into bringing back the grassroots-style of event that got many of us hooked on riding downhill in the first place. Following in the footsteps of Pagan Downhill and Justin DuBois: the goal is to produce an exemplary event that truly showcases the ‘Colorado’ style of doing things, skateboarding and otherwise, while electrifying the Colorado and North American scenes with an exciting new race on an exciting new track. For those who remember, we’ll even be bringing Big Ty back to keep everything running smoothly.
Devil’s Peak will feature a 1.5 mile classic mountain pass course, speeds over 50mph, 7 turns (4 hairpin corners), rough high-country pavement, and a drop-in point at 10,000ft elevation in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. This will be an open skateboarding event, no timed qualifying, no classes, no lay down, just plain ol’ skateboarding.
Open registration will be May 15th, Colorado *Locals-Only* registration will be May 14th on www.venomskate.com/devils-peak. Registration cap will be 150 riders, at $150.00, don’t sleep on registration!! We’ll be putting out a course overview video this weekend with Tanner Morelock courtesy of Sanctum Collective and Seth Gouker.
