Riley Harris in the Middle East: Photo Highlights
Back in December Riley Harris hopped on a plane destined for the United Arab Emirates to visit the Jebel Jais Downhill Skateboarding Challenge, an official downhill event in its inaugural year. He went to compete, meet the scene of skaters, explore the terrain, and take in the culture. The UAE delivered and it was an awesome trip all around.
For those curious where exactly the UAE is, check out the map below:
Check out some of the photos from his journey through the event and the country. Riley’s trip was supported by his sponsor Daddies Board Shop and in part by Landyachtz Longboards. Daddies has a couple of blogs on their site you should check out for more photos as well!
Jebel Jais, the highest point in all of the UAE, was host to the Downhill Challenge. The scenery was breathtaking.
Joseph Celso snapped this shot of Riley mid run. He decided to not bring his leathers along for the trip.
Riley took a selfie before the finals in the race.
As with any event, you never know what’s going to happen until it’s over. Riley raced hard and was fortunate enough to take the championship. The stoke levels were high on top of the podium!
Travelling alongside another Landyachtz team rider Alex Lazaris, the duo pose with the crew from the city of Ras Al Khaimah. They stepped up big for the event and helped make it what it was.
Later in his trip, Riley fulfilled a long time dream of skating an iconic run in the UAE, Jebel Hafeet. Again, the scenery that beautiful country offers goes without saying.
The film car all rigged up.
Atop the run, about to drop in…
Riley put together a VIDEO, and captured some stills from the ride down the mountain.
Riley is always on the move, so who knows where in the world he’ll visit next. A little bird told us the Czech Republic, Austria, and Slovenia are on the coming agenda. We’ll be sure to check in with Riley through the season. You can follow along on his instragam here:
